Lifestyle support for life with POTS, alongside the doctors you already see
Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) looks different in every person, and living with it is often tiring and frustrating. We take time to listen, then help you build a practical daily plan.
We are not a dedicated POTS clinic, and we do not replace your cardiology or primary care team.
Request a ConsultationEstablished workup, individualized care
POTS has recognized diagnostic criteria and established evaluation and care pathways. We use that clinical foundation while taking time to understand your symptoms, existing results, daily routines, and goals. The workup is structured; how we put the recommendations into practice is tailored to your life and adjusted as your symptoms change.
A practical lifestyle plan
Activity suited to tolerance
We adapt established POTS activity recommendations to your starting point, daily demands, and symptom response. That includes accounting for any worsening after exertion and adjusting the pace rather than pushing through.
Nutrition and hydration
Hydration and salt strategies are established parts of POTS care. We discuss these alongside your eating patterns, with recommendations adjusted for your medical history, other conditions, and your care team's guidance.
Sleep and recovery
We look at sleep, rest, and recovery after busy days, and how to leave room for them.
Pacing
Practical ways to plan your week around your energy and symptoms, so good days and hard days are both accounted for.
We also have a dietitian and a personal trainer who can help in their respective areas. If we decide together that their support is appropriate and needed, your plan can include individualized nutrition guidance or help putting a symptom-sensitive activity plan into practice. Their involvement is optional, not a required part of every plan.
What we can offer for evaluation
Our evaluation follows established POTS workup pathways, including a review of symptoms, medications, and existing results. We can arrange lab work and orthostatic monitoring—measuring heart rate and blood pressure while lying down and after standing—to assess the pattern and look for other causes of similar symptoms.
We review what has already been checked and order additional tests based on your history and findings. Diagnosis depends on the full clinical picture and recognized criteria, not a single heart rate reading. Specialist evaluation is arranged when needed.
What we do not do
Archetype does not provide tilt-table testing or advanced cardiac workups. If you need cardiology or neurology care, we can refer you to an appropriate specialist.
Working alongside your physicians
Some people with POTS need specialist involvement, and that care matters. We aim to complement it, and to keep your plan consistent with what your other doctors advise. When medication is needed for POTS, we will refer you to a cardiology clinic for assessment and medication management.
Realistic expectations
Our focus is helping you manage symptoms and support daily function. What helps, how much it helps, and the pace of change vary. Plans may need to be adjusted as symptoms change. Lifestyle support is not a cure or a guarantee of improvement, and it does not mean your symptoms are your fault.

Questions
Is Archetype a POTS clinic?
No. We are a physician-led lifestyle practice. We offer lifestyle-focused support alongside, not in place of, your cardiologist or primary care physician.
Do you do tilt-table testing?
No. We do not provide tilt-table testing or advanced cardiac workups. Our role includes lab work and orthostatic monitoring guided by established POTS workup pathways, with referral when specialist testing is needed.
How do you approach the POTS workup?
We follow recognized diagnostic criteria and established workup pathways. Evaluation includes the pattern and duration of symptoms, heart rate and blood pressure changes with standing, medication review, and checking for other causes of similar symptoms. We review existing results before recommending further testing. The workup provides the clinical foundation; the care plan is adapted to your life.
Will you work with my other doctors?
Yes. Our role is to complement the care you receive from your cardiologist, primary care physician, and other clinicians. We take your existing recommendations into account and discuss where additional specialist input may be useful.
What if I need cardiology care or medication?
When medication is needed for POTS, we will refer you to a cardiology clinic for assessment and medication management. We can also refer for other cardiology needs. Tilt-table testing and advanced cardiac workups are outside our services and require evaluation elsewhere.
What results should I expect?
The goal is to help manage symptoms and support daily function. What helps, how much it helps, and the pace of change differ between people. We cannot guarantee a particular outcome or timeline, and lifestyle support does not replace other care you may need.
Does lifestyle support mean this is my fault?
No. POTS is not a personal failing. Our focus is finding practical ways to support you, not blaming you for your symptoms.
What does it cost?
Fees are discussed with you individually before you decide to proceed.
